  • The women’s suffrage movement started because women were not being treated equally and they were thought of as unqualified to vote. 

Women's Suffrage Overview: 

This lesson is about introducing the concept of women’s suffrage. It allows for students to feel the emotions many women felt during the Progressive Era. Then, students dive deep into the speeches of key women of the movement. This allows students to develop a deeper understanding of who was involved, why the movement started, as well as arguments many women used when fighting for equality.
